A Lesson in Love and Acceptance
True love embraces beauty and imperfection alike. Discover how the thorns of life remind us of the strength and authenticity in what we cherish most.
The other day, I found myself caring for a bouquet of roses I’d been gifted a week ago. Wanting to revive their delicate beauty, I decided to give them a cold bath—a kind of spa treatment for roses. Some of the flowers still had life in them, and this little ritual was my way of helping them renew.

As I gently tended to each rose, one by one, I couldn’t help but admire their beauty. Roses have always been my favorite flowers. To me, they are more than just blooms; they are symbols of elegance, uniqueness, and quiet strength. Lost in their allure, I accidentally pricked my finger on one of their sharp thorns. The sudden sting made me flinch and mutter an "ouch," but strangely, it didn’t sour the moment. In fact, it barely registered as a disruption.

Instead, this small accident gave me a deeper realization.
"When we truly love someone—or something—we embrace it fully, thorns and all. We understand that the things we cherish most can sometimes hurt us, yet that doesn’t diminish our love. It’s part of the experience, a reminder of their authenticity."

Roses are adored by so many people around the world, not despite their thorns but alongside them. Their beauty, their fragrance, their uniqueness—these qualities captivate us. And yes, their thorns might prick us from time to time, but that doesn’t change how much we love them.

In the same way, love for anything—whether it’s a person, a passion, or a purpose—requires acceptance of its imperfections. True love isn’t about avoiding the thorns; it’s about appreciating the beauty that makes them worth it.
